2002 Mascoma Spring Laser Regatta

The Shaker Village Sailing Club hosted a very winter-like Mascoma Spring Laser Regatta on Saturday, May 18. After waiting all morning for the wind to fill in (and the snow to subside!), sixteen diehard sailors competed in a series of four races in light-to-moderate north winds. On Sunday the club hosted a very successful Womens Radial clinic: guest instructors were Diana Weidenbacker (Head Sailing Coach at UNH) and Chris Ross (Lebanon, NH).

Final results, May 18 regatta:

Lasers (13 boats)

1st overall. Wiley Wakeman (Cohasset,MA) - 9 points
2nd overall. Bill Rothwell (Marblehead, MA) - 11 points
3rd overall. Peter Seidenberg (Portsmouth, RI) - 13 points

1st junior. Trevor Moore (North Pomfret, VT) - 14 points

1st Master. Peter Follansbee (Newcastle, NH) - 19 points
2nd Master. Matthew Rowlinson (Lyme, NH) - 23 points

Laser Radials (3 boats)

1st Sally Sharp (Enfield, NH) - 45 points
